Player-to-player chat

Player-to-player chat lets you write directly to another pilot during an active flight. The conversation is separate from the public text chat and from the voice frequencies.

Choosing a target player

There are two ways to pick a pilot:

  1. Open Player Chat in the Windows client.
  2. Click an aircraft in the traffic list. The pilot flying it is taken as the target player.
  3. Or type the pilot's callsign into the Target player field and click Search. Pressing Enter starts the search as well.

Only pilots who are currently flying can be found. If no matching callsign turns up, check the spelling or pick the pilot directly from the traffic list.

Sending a message

  1. Select a conversation on the left, or start a new one via a target player.
  2. Write your message in the input field.
  3. Click Send or press Enter.

Messages may be at most 500 characters long. Incoming messages are sorted into the matching conversation automatically. Conversations with unread messages are marked.

A conversation can stay around after the other pilot has ended their flight. In that case new messages are only possible if that pilot was already part of the conversation.

Private VoiceCall

If the target player is actively flying, VoiceCall opens a private voice channel with them. Check your microphone, speakers and push-to-talk key in the voice settings beforehand.

  • With the target player selected, click VoiceCall.
  • Hold the push-to-talk key while you speak.
  • Click VoiceCall again to end the call.

VoiceCall is only available while the target player is actively flying.

Conduct in direct chat

  • Only write messages that are meant for the direct exchange with that one pilot.
  • Use the public text chat or a radio frequency for anything that concerns several pilots.
  • Do not send spam, advertising, or other people's private data.
  • If you are harassed or someone breaks the rules: do not provoke them further, report it to the moderators.
