Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions that come up most often around FSAirSync. If this does not solve your problem, open the matching guide or get in touch with the moderators.

I cannot sign in

See Account and sign-in. Check your Discord account, cookies and pop-ups first. Start the sign-in again from the Windows client if you need to.

Where do I get the Windows client?

You will find the current version in the FSAirSync download area. There is a detailed guide under Windows client.

Why am I not shown on the live map?

Your position is only reported once you have started a flight in the client and switched visibility on. Check as well that the simulator is running and the client is connected. There is more about this under First flight.

Others cannot see me

Check whether you have started a flight in the client and switched visibility on. Check as well that the simulator is running and the client is connected.

I do not see any traffic

Not every flight is happening right next to you. Check the map view and your position in the simulator. Other pilots may also have switched their visibility off. See Live map and visibility.

How do I tune in to a voice channel?

Open the Voice view in the client, pick a frequency or a VA channel and click Tune in. To speak, hold the push-to-talk key down. The full guide is under Voice chat.

Voice does not work

Check your microphone and speakers in the Windows settings, select the right input and output device in the client, and tune in to the channel you want. Then hold the push-to-talk key down. Check as well that the client is connected to the simulator.

Why can I not rate a pilot?

A rating is only possible after an encounter that was long enough and close enough. Other reasons can be a daily limit, too little flight time of your own, or a rating you gave recently already. You will find the details under Pilot rating.

How do I end my flight properly?

End or pause the flight in the client before you close the simulator or the client. That way your position is ended properly for everyone else. See Ending the flight.

How do I report a problem or a user?

Use the report function in the client or get in touch with the moderators. Describe as precisely as you can what happened, and add the time and the callsign. For technical problems, the client version you are using and the steps to reproduce the fault as precisely as possible are a help too.
