Frequencies¶
This page explains how frequencies come about in the FSAirSync system. To keep things simple we use a slightly different scheme than the real world. We only distinguish two kinds of frequency: airports and centers. Communication starts at the departure airport, passes through the center of one or more countries, and ends at the destination airport.
Airport frequencies¶
We derive airport frequencies from the tower frequencies as they are usually published for the airfield. When a flight starts, we open both text channels for you, for the departure and the arrival airport. Tuning the radio itself is up to you. We only display the frequencies.
Center frequencies¶
Center frequencies are fictional and use the area code already contained in the airport's ICAO code. For example: EDDF becomes ED, LEPA becomes LE, LIRF becomes LI.
When a flight starts, we open the center text chat for departure and arrival. You are free to enter centers you overfly as well. Setting and using the frequency is the pilot's responsibility.
